Mapping the edge of the world
From Montréal to Rouyn Noranda, Quebec
Masterplanning project
2015
Landscapes are invisible, intangible, ephemeral. We live inside them but we do not know them. My approach is to express the perceptions we feel in front of untouched landscapes, the perceptions that language can not say.
Thus, I visited the unlimited lands of Quebec, in order to set up a personal methodology, through representative tools, that would be able to understand the complexity and capture the integrity of large landscapes.
Mapping was my main tool because it is able to represent at the same time the reality of landscapes, and our perception of it. I am looking for landscape experiences, through which I can capture the integrity of open spaces, and translate them into a sensitive representation.
